Entering its 60th academic year, Yamagata University will hold a commemorative ceremony to recognize and celebrate its history and tradition.
Originating as a Normal School in 1878, Yamagata University was established as a national university with four faculties in 1949 when the major federal regulation in higher education came into effect. Since then the University has grown to become a leading comprehensive public institution in north Japan with its enrollment of about 10,000 students at six faculties and six graduate schools. With its student-centered approaches to education, YU continues to work hard to provide students with quality education in order to establish itself as an institution with shining presence.
You are invited to the commemorative ceremony. To attend the ceremony, please fill out a registration form(PDF) and send it by email or fax to General Affairs, General Affairs Department, Yamagata University at somsomu@jm.kj.yamagata-u.ac.jp or 023-628-4013 .
