Report on Short-Term Stay Program for South American students (Yonezawa)

Jul 29, 2016

The Short-Term Stay Program for South American Students started on July 23, 2016. In total, 12 students from 3 Andean countries (Bolivia, Peru and Chile) arrived in Japan.

In Yonezawa, the first visiting place on the Program, the students were briefed on Yamagata University and then visited many places (NECP, an elderly care center, Innovation Center for Organic Electronics (INOEL), “Smart MIRAI House”). They also studied about advanced robot technology, important cultural assets of YU’s Faculty of Engineering, historic collections exhibited at Uesugi Museum and received education/training at Yamagata Prefectural Yonezawa University of Nutrition Sciences.

On the first day of the Program an exchange party joined by Japanese students was held. Completing studies in Yonezawa, the group of Andean students moved to Tsuruoka, which was the second place to visit on the Program.
