Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS)

Yamagata University placed an Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) in its Research Institute located in Kaminoyama City in March 2010, first among higher education institutions in the Hokkaido and Tohoku regions. The Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry was subsequently launched in February 2011 to further invigorate interdisciplinary education and research activities ranging from basic science fields to advanced areas, as well as to promote progressive and creative education and research. The Center is expected to contribute a great deal to broad disciplinary areas including archeology, anthropology, medicine, agriculture, engineering, environmental science and astrophysics.
