We accept both degree-seeking and non-degree students in a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in agriculture, arts, humanities, education, science, social sciences, medicine, natural sciences, nursing and engineering at our four college campuses based on their academic needs, educational backgrounds, and language proficiency levels.

 

NOTICES:                                                                                                                                                               Acceptance of Admission                                                                                                                                  We will arrange for all admitted students who are unable to contact us due to the March 11 earthquake to be able to begin their study at YU past April 2011.They could even take a leave of absence in their first year if they wish. For Early Admitted Students                                                                                                                  Although the deadline for acceptance of admission is Tuesday, March 15, 2011, we will consider extending this deadline for admitted students who were unable to complete their acceptance procedures in time due to the March 11 earthquake. If you had already sent your documents by post or had difficulty completing their acceptance procedures, please contact us.                                       Click here for details and contact information.

For Late Admitted Students                                                                                                                    Although we have sent all successful applicants a packet for admitted students (heisei 23-nendo nyuugaku tetsuzuki ni kansuru shoannai tou) following the March 20 announcement, some of you may not be able to let us know your acceptance of admission in writing by the March 27 deadline due to delayed mail delivery in the Tohoku region. Given this situation, we will go ahead and proceed with admission procedures without signed documents, such as by phone calls. Therefore, if you accept the admission to Yamagata University but are unable to do so by the deadline, please contact an admission officer at a corresponding Faculty.

Admission Decisions                                                                                                                                          We will announce whether to offer additional seats for Academic Year 2011-12 at 6 p.m. on March 27 or later. We will keep you posted daily till March 31, 2011. (3.25.2011)

Following the cancellation of an entrance exam scheduled for March 12, 2011, admission decisions for late applicants have been made based on the result of the University Center Test and submitted documents for admission. The successful applicants for the Academic Year 2011-2012 were announced at 4 p.m. on March 20, 2011 as previously scheduled. You can now see their examination numbers posted by each Faculty on your PC or mobile phone.

Certificates & Student ID                                                                                                                           Freshmen in need of a certificate(s) can apply for one(s) including a temporary student ID before their official ID is issued during a freshman orientation by applying to the Student Services Center on Kojirakawa campus, or to the Student Support Center on Yonezawa campus if you are enrolled in the Systems Innovation Program at the Faculty of Engineering.
