【授業概要】
・テーマ
English (C) aims to help students to improve basic communication skills such as listening, conversation and written composition.
・到達目標
By the end of course, students will improve communication skills and vocabulary, enabling efficient communication and providing them with the ability to deal with a wide range of topics. Specifically, they should be able to:
Listening: understand everyday conversation without undue effort.
Speaking: describe clearly a wide range of subjects referring in the main to personal experiences; express agreement or disagreement in an everyday discussion.
Writing: write sentences of a reasonable length about their environment.

Communicative Language Teaching methodology will be utilized to create an English-speaking environment where students will learn to communicate by using English in the classroom.

Students will choose the textbook units they wish to study in the first lesson.

【成績の評価】
・基準
Grades will be determined based on the criteria below. The midterm and final evaluations will consist of timed pair and group conversations with a focus on communicative fluency.

・方法
TOEIC 20%, Midterm evaluation 25%, Final evaluation 25%, Quizzes and Homework 10%, Class participation 20%

*Students missing 1/3 of the classes will automatically receive a final score of ‘0’.

This is a practical communication course with a focus on developing fluency. Students are expected to participate in an all-English environment and are encouraged to try their best and not worry about making mistakes. In this class successful communication will be more important than always being grammatically accurate.
