【授業の目的】
日本の著名人を取り上げ、その行動や考え方などの生き様を時代背景の中で理解することを目的とする。 (受業の言語は英語なので、説明も英語となります。) From Chikamatsu’s or Mokuami’s dramatic masterpieces to modern classics like Mori Ogai, Kawabata Yasunari, Mishima Yukio: In many Japanese novels or plays (or films), heroes or heroines are featured that have become at least as popular as the literary work itself; the class will concentrate on such pieces, introducing them as films made during the Fifties and Sixties, in which all of our heroes are well presented.

(1)行動や考え方などを、社会背景と結びつけて理解し、分析することができる。(知識・理解) (2)主体的な分析を基づき、自分の考えを英語で論理的に説明することができる。(技能) While practicing their English listening and talking abilities, participants get deeper into Japanese literature of various ages.

・授業の方法
Rather than handing in a written report, participants are expected to prepare a short English-speaking presentation on a course-related topic of their own choice along with an accompanying handout for one of the final sessions.
