【授業の目的】
The focus of this class is English fluency development through online communication.

Students will develop fluency through active online communication, utilizing the four skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

This class will be conducted online in on-demand format: course materials and homework assignments are available online on Webclass (an online learning management system), where students download documents and upload homework. The course level requires that students have a TOEIC score of at least 400.

【学習の方法・準備学修に必要な学修時間の目安】
・受講のあり方
Classes will be held using WebClass chat. Students will have a full week to participate in the chat. Since a large part of the course grade is based on participation in these chats, it is recommended that students spend 15 to 20 minutes each day checking the chat. First, students need to answer the main discussion questions in the chat, and then read all posts by the teacher and fellow students, as well as, ask and answer follow-up questions to keep the conversations going.
・授業時間外学習(予習・復習)のアドバイス
Reading materials, and supplemental vocabulary building materials will be provided for download on Webclass. Students should read and work through these materials each week before participating in the Webclass chat. In addition, optional Zoom meetings will be held each week for real-time conversation practice and to further discuss the weekly topics.

There is no required text for this class, but a good electronic dictionary is highly recommended.

The focus of this class is the development of online communicative fluency. Students are expected to participate in an all-English online environment and are encouraged to try their best and not worry about making mistakes. In this class successful communication will be more important than always being grammatically accurate.
