Daily English Conversation ("Lunch Chat") aims to improve your overall English skills, especially in speaking and listening.

【科目の位置付け】
This course is not a mandatory course, but recommended for everyone who is wanting to speak in English and improve his/her language abilities outside a normal classroom atmosphere.
【授業計画】
・授業の方法
We will practice speaking in English in the International Lounge during lunch time. Anyone can join and it is a nice opportunity to meet other people and make friends as well as practicing your English skills.
Students who join 15 times or more and give a short presentation will be eligible for credits. You are not required to register for this course to participate and may come and go freely as you please.
・日程
Daily English Conversation will take place on several weekdays from 12:00-13:00 in the International Lounge, 1st floor of Building 9 (the days will be announced via posters and on the International Center homepage). We will have various conversational topics and different people will be attending each time, giving you a chance to talk to people from different backgrounds.

・受講のあり方
You are expected to participate in the conversations and to give at least one presentation during the semester. We will talk about a variety of topics. Feel free to suggest your own topics and ideas!
・授業時間外学習（予習・復習）のアドバイス
Actively participate in English conversation and have fun using English.
【成績の評価】
・基準
This class is evaluated based on your active participation. All students who fulfill the requirements listed below will pass.
・方法
You must attend “Daily English Conversation” (A or B) at least 15 times and give one short presentation to get credits.
Both "Daily English Conversation A" and "Daily English Conversation B" can be attended for a maximum of combined two credits.

・学生へのメッセージ
It is impossible to learn English only from going to class and reading your textbooks. If you truly want to learn English, you must spend time every day using English. We suggest that you try to read and listen to English every day. Try joining English learning activities at the Faculty of Engineering International Exchange Center such as Daily English Conversation, Movie Night, and Board Game Night. Learning English can be fun!
