“Advanced English A” focuses on English speaking/listening activities. Through this class you will gain confidence in using English.

The goal of this class is for you to improve your English vocabulary and especially to advance your English speaking/listening skills.The entire course is centered around SDGs.

【授業計画】
・授業の方法
Classes will be taught with a focus on pair and group activities.
At the beginning of the semester we will think about SDGs in general.
In each class, we will practice English communication through a variety of activities such as group work and debates/discussions.

Class 8: Gender

Class 12: Plastic Waste
Class 13: Shopping
Class 14: Partnerships
Class 15: Final test and presentations
Students will read about various SDGs together and after some comprehension and listening practice, there will be opportunities to think about SDGs together and discuss ways to incorporate them into our everyday lives.
There will be short vocabulary quizzes and practice assignments.
【学習の方法・準備学修に必要な学修時間の目安】
・受講のあり方
You are expected to actively participate in class each week and to complete every homework assignment.
Additionally, you are required to take the TOEIC test in June/July.
・授業時間外学習（予習・復習）のアドバイス
Please study for vocabulary quizzes and complete homework assignments. Occasional short voaculary tests will require some revision time.
【成績の評価】
・基準
Your grade will be evaluated based on class participation/presentations, assignments,short quizzes and your TOEIC score.
・方法
Grades will be calculated in the following fashion:
Assignments: 25 pts.
Short quizzes: 25 pts.
Class participation/presentations: 30 pts.
TOEIC: 20pts.
