I am planning to foster better communication skills in my students especially relying on my experience as a global communicator and teacher.

【授業の目的】
In this class, students will develop their overall practical English ability with an emphasis on reading comprehension and grammatical knowledge. In addition to reading tasks, other communicative functions such as listening and speaking will be included to develop overall skills.

2.Students can express their opinions using a wide range of vocabulary and a clear logical structure in speech and writing.

【授業計画】
・授業の方法
Classes will be divided into two parts: the first part will concentrate on reviewing previous material, while the second part will focus on acquiring new knowledge. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the material, express their opinions, articulate their points of view, and respectfully disagree when their opinions differ. This class will utilize online platforms, including YouTube and various mass media platforms, for learning purposes. During our classes, students will participate in various activities drawing on their experiences and real-life examples to enhance speaking and writing fluency in an all-English environment. Our main goal is to understand the basics of media literacy, like telling different news stories apart and understanding different points of view from the news.

【学習の方法・準備学修に必要な学修時間の目安】
・受講のあり方
I.Students are expected to do independent research on the topic that is coming up next on their own.
II.Students are expected to use English throughout the class.
III.Students are expected to ask questions when they do not understand or know something.
IV.In class there will be a good amount of group and pair work based on tasks given by the instructor or chosen by the students.
・授業時間外学習(予習・復習)のアドバイス
1.An estimated amount of time for preparation and review of each lesson will be 1.5 hours a week.
2.Students are required to complete homework assignments, to read the related material to get a better grasp.
3.Students are highly recommended to get a better grasp of the topics learned in class by accessing related material in the University library or on the Internet.

1.The level of students’ independent study before the class.
2.The level of involvement in pair or group discussions in the class.
3.Self-assessment completed after every class.
4.The answers to the mini-quizzes.
5.The mini-presentation at the start of every lesson.
6.The midterm & the final exam will be evaluated by other students.
7.You may fail if you do not submit more than 30% of your homework or if you do not attend 2/3 or more of classes.
