Student’s overall practical English abilities will be developed while putting emphasis on reading comprehension and grammatical knowledge.

Students can comprehend social, cultural and lifestyle topics written and spoken with common English vocabulary. Students can express their opinions with basic words and phrases in speech and writing.

This class will be conducted in person and face to face. Students will engage in conversations with one another and practice using daily English. Each week will feature a conversation strategy with opportunities to use it with other students.

【学習の方法・準備学修に必要な学修時間の目安】
・受講のあり方
Students should be prepared to ask questions and participate in the class by engaging in conversations with one another.
・授業時間外学習（予習・復習）のアドバイス
An estimated amount of time to be spent on preparation and review of each lesson will be 1 hour a week. Additionally, students will be required to work with a partner outside of class to prepare for English conversations within the class.

Students will be rated on how often the participate in the class by engaging in conversations with one another and asking questions.

There is no required textbook for this class.
E-learning software has been chosen to support TOEIC® preparation as part of English 1 studies. This study software offers practice and learning in all fields of English language study, including vocabulary, expressions and grammar. We suggest continued progress, completing a few lessons on a weekly basis.
