It is necessary for students with disabilities to have understanding and support from people around them in order to study and have student life the same as other students.
Try participating in support activities!
If you have the slightest interest in support activities for students with disabilities, try to participate in the training course for supporters of students with disabilities held by the Support Center for Students with Disabilities. For the course, please check the notice board or contact the Support Center.

Support activities by YU Heart Supporters

The following are the major support activities asked of YU Heart supporters. Support for students with disabilities differs depending on the disability and the student’s environment. YU heart supporters first acquire knowledge and skills required to support the students and then provide support according to their needs.

YU Heart Supporters carry out activities under the regulations relating to the Administrative Assistants (AA) of Yamagata University. When you provide support, the university pays for your support according to the AA regulations. This is not a volunteer activity. Why do we ask and pay for support activities instead of asking for volunteers? There are very important reasons as follows:

We use this way because we expect that both the students with disabilities and the YU Heart Supporters will grow together through this support activity by supporting each other.

・You can make your spare time meaningful!
There are many benefits in activities supporting students with disabilities and this is a job where you can gain valuable experience while feeling satisfaction!
