This course is designed for the students who have completed Minna no Nihongo I, the first half of elementary Japanese, or its equivalent, to acquire the four skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking at the upper elementary level.
By the end of the course, students should be able to understand frequently used expressions for communication in daily living, and to describe experiences, plans and dreams and to give reasons for opinions in simple terms.

TThe objective of this course is to develop reading skills and strategies at the upper elementary level, utilizing grammar and vocabulary acquired in the integrated skill- classes.
By the end of the course, students should be able to read various types of short texts ranging from an interview to a commentary, to scan the text to identify specific information and to recognize the line of argument.
