Cultural Systems Major

Outline and Features

The objective of the Cultural Systems Major is to conduct research on the cognitive activity of human beings and various cultural phenomena as a comprehensive system.

The major desires students who:

  • Have basic academic skills in humanities, specialty fields like linguistics, psychology, history, anthropology, Andean archaeology, philosophy and literature,
  • Have a strong spirit of inquiry into the mechanisms of human thinking and action and the world's various cultural phenomena, and
  • Want to use own expertise in solving various cultural problems of modern society.

Social Systems Major

Outline and Features

Students conduct research focusing on three social systems, i.e., the public system, business system and international system.

The major desires students who:

  • Are equipped with basic academic skills in specialty fields of social sciences, such as law, politics, economics and business administration,
  • Have a strong spirit of inquiry into today's wide-varying social phenomena, and
  • Want to use own expertise in addressing various problems of local communities and international society.
