National Judo Team of Thailand visited YU, and had a joint training with YU Judo Club (YUJC) on June 16, 2018, during their 3 weeks training camp in Yamagata.

Thailand National Team had a training camp for 18th Asian Games Jakarta 2018, aiming for Tokyo Olympic 2020.  In the training at YU, they practiced standing and groundwork techniques with 9 YUJC members.

Coach of Thailand said, "Yamagata has very beautiful landscapes, and YU is also well improved environmentally. Compared to player population in Thailand, there are plenty of competing players, and we had a good training with changing opponents many times."  Minori Watanabe in Faculty of Science, Representative of YUJC, gave a comment, it's a valuable opportunity for YUJC to practice with foreign team together and it would be good time while conscious of the actual game.
