The Short-Term Training Program for Students from Andes Nations

August 3, 2017

In The Yamagata-Andes Nations’ Double Triangle Program, a human resource development program has been carried out between 6 major South American universities – in Peru, Bolivia and Chile - and Yamagata University and 2 other educational institutions in Yamagata Prefecture.  As in the previous year, the short-term program for 10 foreign students from 3 countries in Andes Nations began on July 31.

Foreign students started the program with opening ceremony and orientation.  After the orientation, they visited the YU President Kiyohito Koyama and exchanged opinions about impressions of Japan and cultural differences, with the Japanese expressions that they learned at their countries.

YU President Koyama sent them the message to enjoy the valuable opportunity to have experiences in each region of Yamagata, Yonezawa and Tsuruoka.  They will travel throughout Yamagata Prefecture with the visits such as culture facilities or the company to learn about engineering, environmental conservation and social welfare until August 14.

The Yamagata-Andes Nations’ Double Triangle Program was adopted as Inter-University Exchange Project in MEXT (the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) in 2015.
