On December 23, 2022, Dr. Clemens von Goetze, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Japan, and his delegation visited the Innovation Center for Organic Electronics, an international research center that has been leading Japan-Germany collaboration.
President Hidetoshi Tamate, Mitsutoshi Kuroda, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and others welcomed them, and Director Takeshi Sano explained about the center's activities. Associate Professor Tadahiro Furukawa, leader of the Japan-Germany international joint development, explained the jointly developed prototype of flexible electronics, and Visiting Professor Jun Shinoda, Yonezawa City coordinator for small- and medium-sized business cooperation, explained his efforts in metal processing. Afterwards, Professor Tatsuhiro Takahashi gave a presentation on the past and future plan of the Japanese-German cluster collaboration, which has been going on for more than 10 years.
The visit was meaningful in deepening our understanding of the cooperation between Yamagata and Germany.
